Photography

I've been interested into, at the very least, delving into the art of photography. I may be incorrect, and correct me if I am wrong, but I believe it to be an expensive art to invest in. I hope I am wrong. Not really sure on what type of photography I'd eventually look into... As I assume with any art, the 'basic principals' should be the first step I should take (?)
